From the Board of Commissioners

Committee Youth, a new program introduced by the board of commissioners, affords our younger residents opportunities to become involved in the area of community service.  “Many of our young residents want the experience of working with township officials and commissioners.  Our job is to make sure these young people are heard and given the chance to become active and visible within our community.  They are, without a doubt, our greatest resource and future leaders of our township,” states Joseph P. Possenti, Jr., president, board of commissioners.

Numerous opportunities are available to any young person who desires the experience of working with township officials and commissioners.  Committee Youth members become an integral part in the planning and implementation of community-based programs and events that will enhance their high school and college careers in the area of community service.

Possenti adds, “The board of commissioners and I are very much aware of the need to offer the same volunteer opportunities to our young people as is available to our committeemen and committeewomen.  We are delighted to offer this program to the young people of our growing township.”

Anyone interested in learning more about upcoming community service opportunities may contact Michal Curry, director of public information, at 610-494-1636 or 610-972-1317.
