From the Board of Commissioners
There are many
people to thank for all of the time and hard work that went into
our recent clean up of Eagle Park.
Our Committee Youth was a tremendous help as they worked along side of
committee men and women of the 2nd ward. Committee Youth members who assisted in this project were:

Sonia Adamidis, Chalie Berardi, David Fisher, Matt Fisher, Jeffrey
Pilla, Dominic Pilla, and Patrick
Solari.

The committee men and women of the 2nd ward
who helped organize and obtain donations for Eagle Park clean up
were: Kit Spayd, Nick
Spayd, Carol Graham, Florence Fisher and Bud Stricker.
Resident Mr. Searle Noble loaned us numerous garden tools;
Goodale’s supplied soda, water, and ice; Wawa supplied iced tea;
Home Depot donated work gloves and brooms; Rick Wiley, owner of L
& M Landscaping along with son, Mike, trimmed and mowed the
grass areas; and Opdenaker Trash Removal Service removed the
collected trash and debris.
Please accept my sincerest thanks for a job well done
and for your support and commitment to our township.

Community News
The one-room, Village Green
School House on Pennell Road will be open to the public on Sunday,
June 25 from 1pm to 4 pm. Representatives from Aston
|
Historical
Society
will be on hand to answer questions.
Parking is located on the premises. Aston
Lions honored Fireperson of the Year, Brian
Harris from Green Ridge Volunteer Fire Company and Fire and
Ambulance Person of the Year, Andy
Brezezicki from Aston-Beechwood Volunteer Fire Company at
their recent May 4 meeting. A
$200 check donation was presented to both Green Ridge and Aston-Beechwood
Fire Companies, in addition to a $200 check donation to Aston-Beechwood
Ambulance service, by Robert Sexton, president, Aston Lions.
Neumann
College is staging
Oliver! at Meagher Theater at 8pm on June 8,
9, & 10
and at 3pm on June 11. King
Midas and the Golden Touch will be offered on July 13, 14, &
15 at 11am. Both productions will be held at Meagher Theater.

At
the dinner meeting held on April 6, the Aston
Lions honored Officer Dennis Killian, Aston
Township’s 2005 Policeman of the Year.
Officer Killian was nominated and elected by his |
colleagues as Policeman of the
Year for his role in a domestic dispute in Chester Township last
summer and for locating a missing toddler in the
Green Lane area of the township.
Also at this dinner meeting, Robert Sexton, president
of Aston Lions,
presented Chief Al Fasano with a $200 check from the club to be
used for police department needs.
Additionally, Aston
Lions made a $10,000 donation to the Center for the Blind and
Visually Impaired (formally

Delco Blind and Sight Center) and also donated $1,000 to the
Williamson Trade School
& City Team Katrina Relief Trip.
These donations were presented at the April 20 dinner
held at American Legion Post 926.
