On Wednesday, September 21,
Frank G. Murphy, commissioner of the 6th ward, was voted in as vice
president of the board of commissioners. Congratulations !
The special dedication
ceremony that was originally scheduled to take place this month to
honor the late Mr. Lewis Fisher has been rescheduled to a later date
in spring,2006. Please contact township manager, Mr. Dick Lehr, at

The township will begin a
cell phone recycling program that will be implemented within the
next two months. This program offers a drop off site for old cell
phones that will be refurbished and given, free of charge, to those
in need of contacting 911 in the event of an emergency. More
information on this new program will be listed in next month's issue
of Township Times .

Giant@ Food Store is now
hiring for the new Aston store, located on Concord Road, that will
open mid- to

late fall, 2005. Applications and
interviews are being conducted, over the next few weeks, at Aston
Community Center, Monday through
Friday, 9am to 5pm. No appointment is needed.
In just a few months, we
will be welcoming Comcast@ to our community. Combining their
Wallingford and Glenolden offices, Comcast's@ headquarters will be
located on Springbrooke Road in Aston Township.

Aston Senior Citizens will
hold their general meeting and luncheon at 1 0:45am on Thursday,
October 27,
2005, at Aston Community Center. Dr.
Leslye Abrutyn, Superintendent of Penn-Delco School District will be
the guest speaker. Entertainment
will be performed by Sun Valley Traveling Chorus.
The deadline for membership is
October 31, 2005. Anyone wishing to apply, please call Ann Canning,

Vendors Wanted! St. Francis
de Sales Ladies Club is
hosting an Octoberfest in the parish field house on Friday, October
7, from 6pm to 9pm and on Saturday, October 8, from 9am to 7pm.
Numerous festivities include; arts and crafts, food, games, jewelry,
candied apples, face painting, and more! This is a fun time for all
ages. Anyone interested in renting a table ($30 for both days) or

Historical Society, located at the Community Center, displays
hundreds of fascinating photographs, newspaper articles, and
artifacts that shows how our township has grown over the past 150
years.
