   From the Board of Commissioners

October is Fire Prevention Month and throughout the month of October fire companies, across our Nation, will focus on educational programs involving fire awareness and fire prevention.

Fire prevention week, October 8 through October 14, offers opportunities for firefighters to visit local elementary, junior and senior and high schools offering informative tips and guidelines to students that assist in the education of fire prevention.

Throughout the year at our monthly Commissioner’s meetings I have, on numerous occasion, made mention of the volunteer members of Aston-Beechwood and Green Ridge fire companies, publicly noting their commitment, dedication and heroic efforts.  The members of these fire companies are volunteer firefighters who unselfishly give of their time to ensure the safety of each and every member of our community.

It is with great pleasure and deep respect that I highlight Aston-Beechwood and Green Ridge fire companies in “Professional Profiles” for our October newsletter.
