From the Board of Commissioners

We are pleased to announce the inception of “Employee of the Month.”  An employee will be selected each month, by township officials and administrators, who exhibit exceptional job performance and commitment to the service of our residents.  Please see the “Employee of the Month” section of this newsletter for more information. 

   We, the board of commissioners, which to thank Country Press for their quality printing services and exceptional turn-around time in assisting the pubic information office each month as we continue to provide our residents with a monthly newsletter.  Thank you, Carol and Keith Cox! 

   Santa Claus is coming to town!  Nancy Sipple, 7th ward commissioner, was contacted by Santa last week to request a mailbox be placed at the community center so children can send him their Christmas lists. 

Santa asked Mrs. Sipple to gather a group of assistants to help with the delivery of these letters that will be sent to the North Pole.  All letters sent to Santa will receive a personal response from him.  Mrs. Sipple and her .

Christmas elves are going to be very busy over the next few weeks as they travel back and forth to the North Pole so please make sure that all letters contain first and last names, a home address, and are delivered to the community center before December 19.

 Business News 

Aston Township officials and representatives were present at the ribbon cutting ceremonies for Giant® Food Store on November 2 and Corporate Express on November 11.   

 

On November 2, 2005, “Old Sam’s Place” located at 817 Aston Mills Road was purchased by new owners Eileen Chapin, Peter Chapin, and Charlie Miller.  Plans are now underway to install three plasma televisions to create PJ’s Sports Bar and Grille.  Operating hours of PJ’s are Monday through Friday, 6am to 2pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 2am.

 

Community News         

Hedgerow Theatre and IceWorks presents a special performance of Redheaded Robbies Christmas Story: the musical, by Bill and Carol Luttrell on Saturday, December 3, at 11:30am.  Special scenes will be performed at IceWorks Skating Complex, 701 West Duttons Mill Road, by IceWorks club skaters and Special Olympic skaters.  Ticket prices range from $10 to $25 per person and can be purchased through IceWorks (610-497-2200 x117) or Hedgerow Theatre
