   From the Board of Commissioners

Our annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held on December 6.

 Aston Community Center

This year's ceremony should be a child’s fantasy. Have your little ones bring their “letters to the North Pole.” Letters placed in Santa’s mailbox at the Community Center will receive a personal response from Santa.  Cookies and punch will be served. Music will be plentiful . Everyone will have an opportunity to visit with Santa.

Neumann College has scheduled a wonderful variety of holiday festivities. The College Concert Chorale will present its annual holiday concert on Friday, December 1, at 8 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre. This year’s program includes several selections by Mozart in honor of his 250th birthday. Catch the holiday spirit at a live performance of popular Christmas songs. The College Jazz Band will perform seasonal favorites and other tunes on Wednesday, December 6, at 8 p.m. in the campus Life Center.

To reserve tickets for these events, call 610-558-5626.

   Community News

The Veteran's Memorial was informally dedicated on Veteran’s Day, Saturday, November 11, 2006 . Board of Commissioners President Joseph Possenti reminded us of the commitment of those who have served and those who have devoted so much of their time and energy to the creation of the Veterans' Memorial Garden.

Veteran's Memorial

Honor someone special by placing a personalized brick at our township's Veterans' Memorial Garden.  Bricks can celebrate a birth, anniversary, graduation, and can memorialize the life of a loved one.  This is an excellent opportunity to give a one-of-a-kind gift that will be enjoyed by future generations.  4" x 8" bricks cost $100 each or three for $250 total.  8" x 8" bricks cost $150 each.  Bricks will be inscribed with your choice of wording up to three lines (16 characters per line including spaces.)   Morte Smitham, Community Banking Officer, at Iron Workers Bank is offering a 5' x 3' American flag with pole to those who submit a brick order at Iron Workers Bank, Concord Road.  For more information on the purchase of bricks at Veterans' Memorial Garden please contact Jack Holefelder at 610-494-4035
