Bomb Squad, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, and
local fire and police departments are some of the scheduled
exhibitors.
The Pennsylvania Freemasons Foundation for Children will be
on hand to promote their Child Identification Program. (CHIP)
This program addresses the growing concern that over the
course of a year more then one million children are reported
missing in the United States.
Parents will receive computer-scanned fingerprints of their
children along with a DNA kit.

Aston
Township Community Day is Saturday, October 7!
All residents are welcome to join in for this family-fun
event. The parade,
featuring the Sun Valley Marching Band and the Quaker City String
Band, begins at 10am from Neumann College and ends at Aston
Township Community Center.
The Business Expo opens its doors at 11am and is held
inside the Community Center.
A shuttle is available from Village Green Mobile Home
Community, Valley Vew Shopping Center, and Northley Middle School
to the Community Center throughout the day.
Handicapped parking will be available on the ground of the
Community Center.
Whether indoors for the business expo or outdoors for the
games, contests, rides, and food, a good time is guaranteed!
St.
Francis de Sales, located on New Road in Lenni, is currently
planning their yearly Octoberfest event that will be held on
Saturday, October 21 from
9am
to 7pm. A limited
number of vendor tables are available at $20 each.

The
1st Annual Fall Festival, sponsored by Penn-Delco
Educational and Cultural Foundation, will take place on Saturday,
October 21, from 11am to 4pm at Northley Middle School.
Join us for a fun-filled day including food, games, music,
and prizes. Old
friends, former classmates and neighbors will be in attendance!
Mt.
Hope United Methodist Church will host a Craft Fair and Fall
Festival on Saturday, October 28 from 9am to3 pm.
The proceeds will benefit the Sunday

School department and
Youth Fellowship mission team.

Aston
Lions Club is hosting numerous events during the month of October.
Their
dinner meeting is scheduled for October 5, at American Legion Post
926, starting at 6:30pm. On
October 12 at 7pm, Aston Lions will hold their monthly board of
directors meeting at Aston Community Center.
All Lioness, Lions and their guests are invited to attend
Charter Dinner Night on Thursday,
October 19 at Western, Concordville Inn.
The cost is $30 per person and a choice of menu is
available. The
highest honor given to a member of the Lions club exemplifying the
motto “WE SERVE,” is the LCIF Melvin Jones Fellow award
and the recipient will be announced at this event.
Payment must be received by October 7.

Aston Lions will be participating in our township’s
upcoming Community Day and Business Expo on Saturday, October 7.
Lions members will meet at Neumann College at 9:30am to
join in the parade that begins at 10am.
If you will be walking in the parade please remember to
wear your vest or shirt. The
Lions will also be sponsoring a table at the Expo.
Lotto chances, pancake breakfast tickets, and White Cane
buckets will be available.
On Saturday, November 4, at 4pm the Aston Lions will begin
setting up tables and chairs at Aston Community Center in
preparation for their annual pancake breakfast that will be held
on Sunday, November 5, from 7:30am to 12:30pm.
Ticket prices are: adults
$5; senior citizens $4; children 12 and under $3; children under 2
years of age are admitted free of charge.
All members are needed to help with the set up of this

The
General Federation of Women’s Club will participate in the
Annual Aston Community Day parade on Saturday, October 7.
In addition to their float presentation at the parade the
GFWC will also sponsor a table at the Expo held inside of the
Aston Community Center beginning at 11am.
Chances will be available to win a handmade quilt created
by Gloria Armstrong.

GWFC will celebrate their 50th anniversary of
service to the community with a tea on Saturday, October 28, at
Aston Community Center. Former
members are welcome to attend.
Virginia Burbage will host the GFWC board meeting at her
home on Monday, October 16, at 7pm.
Anyone interested in participating in Boscov’s “Friends
Helping Friends” is invited to do so.
This event is scheduled for October 17 from 10am to 9pm.
Addtionally, the general meeting of GFWC will be held at
Aston Community Center on Monday, October 23 at 7pm.
Waterloo Gardens dried floral arrangements

Municipal News
Township offices will be
closed on Monday, October 9th, in observance of
Columbus Day. Recycling
items and trash collection normally picked up on Monday will be
