The Aston A. A. Cheerleaders performed at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, February 18, during half-time

at the Philadelphia Wings vs. the Portland Lumberjacks game.  Their performance, coached by Madelyn Trofa, was viewed by more than 10,000 spectators.  Way to go, cheerleaders! 

The 7th Annual Aston Sports Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on March 16, at Kings Mills on Pennell Road.  Doors open at 5:30pm.  Ticket price is $25 per person and can be purchased by contacting:  Chuck Taylor, 610-494-3827; Bob Harron, 610-485-7377; or Nancy Sipple, 610-494-1705. 

St. Francis de Sales Ladies Club is hosting a Penny Party on Monday, March 27, 2006 at the St. Francis de Sales school cafeteria (39 New Road, Lenni Section, Aston, PA).  Doors open at 6:30pm.  Admission price is $2.00 per person and refreshments will be available.  Join us for a fun evening! 

 

All Aston Senior Citizens are invited to join our card-playing group at the Aston Community Center every Tuesday from 1pm to 4pm.  All are welcome to participate in this fun time! 

St. Francis de Sales school invites all preschoolers from ages 3 to 5 to attend Story Time with Granny Annie on March 31 at 10am.  Bring your favorite teddy bear and join us for story time and teddy bear treats!  Please R.S.V.P. to 610-459-0799. 

Relay for Life® sponsored by the American Cancer Society will hold an update and informational meeting on March 6, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm, at the Aston Community Center.  This walk-a-thon program consists of 8 to 15 member teams who take turns walking or running laps, keeping a member on the track at all times throughout the event.  This is a tremendous opportunity for students to become involved in a worthwhile cause while raising monies to support this program.  Relay for Life® will be held at Sun Valley High School on May 12 & 13, 2006.  For more information, please logon to American Cancer Society’s website at: :www.acsevents.org\pa\sunvalley

Aston A. A. Basketball’s All Star Classics are now underway at the Rick Owsley Field House.  Approximately 65 teams from Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery counties will participate.  The tournaments began on February 24 and will continue until March 27 including weekdays from 6pm to 9:30pm and on weekends from 9am to 9pm, for a total of 135 games in 31 days.  Admission charge is $5 per family; $2 per adult, or $1 per child.  Food, including pizza, pretzels, and hoagies, and beverages are available.
