“I joined the Aston
Lioness’ because of what they do in service for others,
particularly their involvement in working with those who are
visually and hearing impaired. The
mission of our club is to assist those in our community by
organizing fundraising events. The monies generated from our fundraisers give us the
opportunity to donate needed funds to support services for a
variety of causes within Aston Township.
The bond that exists between us, as fellow Lioness members,
is a bond that carries over into other areas of over lives.
We support one another through our friendship and shared
mission to service within community,” states Ilene
M. Haschak, president of Aston Lioness Club.
Ilene Haschak a 1955 graduate of St. Francis in
Wilmington, Delaware worked for 34 years as a registered nurse,
retiring in 1984. An
Aston resident for many years, she and her husband celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary last March and, at that
time, was presented with a proclamation by Commissioner James
McGinn at the commissioners’ monthly meeting.
In addition to serving as former president of Crozer
