From the Pen of our
Police Chief
From July 9,2005 until
September 16,2005, I attended specialty training classes at the FBI
Academy, located at the Marine Corp Officer Training Base, in
Quantico, Virginia.
I felt it necessary to obtain
further law enforcement education, through the FBI Academy, to
enhance my professional skills as Chief of our township's police
force and then to share these newly acquired skills with the police
staff, upon my return.
Now that I have completed the FBI
Academy's training, a variety of other programs, through the
National Academy Organization, will be made available to me
|
and our police force, that include
additional instruction in the areas of hostage negotiations, weapons
of mass destruction, and sniper training.
The FBI academy holds an
impeccable reputation for its intensive training and offers to those
who participate, room and board along with all educational training,
at no charge. ,
Within the very near future, I will
be sending members of our police staff to the FBI Academy and other
teaching facilities so that they, too, receive specialty training in
these areas of law enforcement.
It's always good to come home. I
appreciate the support I was given in my absence and for the
continued, hardworking police officers that support this township,
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Great job!
Thank you. -Chief Al Fasano

Leaf collection begins on
Monday, October 17 and runs through
| Tuesday, December 13, 2005. Place leaves (no rocks
or sticks, please) between the curb I and sidewalk and not in the
street, the night before your scheduled day. Once the public works
crew completes leaf pickup on your street they will not be back
again until the next appointed time. As an alternative, you may bag
your leaves and put them out for trash.
|
 |
The summer schedule for
trash removal includes pick- up twice a week, which comes to a close
on Friday, September 30. We will return to the once-a-week trash
collection schedule beginning Monday, October 3, 2005. Township
offices, including the public works department, will be closed on
Monday, October 10, in honor of Columbus Day. Since trash will not
be collected on this day, it has been rescheduled for pickup on
Tuesday, October 11 with Tuesday's regular trash schedule.
Reminder...this is not a recycling week. Thank you!
A Message from
Code Enforcement Office
Since heating costs are on
the rise, a cause for concern is the use of supplementary heating
sources, such as electric space and kerosene heaters, if not used
properly. Electric space heaters should be placed with proper
clearances, with NO extension cords. Kerosene space heaters should
also be placed with proper clearances and MUST
be used in conjunction with a carbon monoxide (CO) detector.
Additional care is also required when filling and storing kerosene.
