Aston
Township’s Emergency Management Agency encourages all residents
to develop a disaster preparedness program to ensure the safety
and welfare of individuals, families and businesses.
These four important steps will assist you in preparing
your home or business in time of disasters including heavy rains,
flooding, power outages, etc.
Prepare
a Disaster Kit
A disaster kit should have essential supplies needed to
sustain yourself and your family during and after a disaster.
The most essential supplies are water, non-perishable food,
radio, first-aid kit, extra batteries, prescription medications,
and important family documents.
Make
a Plan
Essential components should include a communication plan,
out-of-town contacts, evacuation and shelter-in-place plans, and
knowledge of emergency procedures at work, school, and other areas
within the community.
Be
Informed
Keep informed about all the different types of disasters
that could affect your home and community.
