Notes from Public Works Department

Once snow begins to fall the public works department crew begins to spread layers of salt and cinders on township roads.  If the snow accumulates to an inch or more our crew begins plowing and continues until the snow fall stops.  Plowed snow by our public works crew is placed as close to the curb line as possible.  The first roads to be cleared are intersections and then residential streets. During times of snow fall, residents are encouraged to shovel and place snow on the downside of their driveways AFTER our crew is finished with clearing the streets.  Homeowners who wait for

street plowing to be completed by the public works department will only have to clear the end of their driveways one time.  Also, please be aware that it is unlawful to shovel snow from a property back into a street that was already cleared by public works staff.  In doing so, road accidents are more likely to occur.Thank you for your support and helping us to better serve you!

-Russ Palmore, Public Works  -  Road Foreman
