Local Sports History…
The Aston Township Historical Society will hold their next meeting on Thursday, February 8, 7:30pm at the Aston Municipal Building, 5021 Pennell Road. The public is cordially invited. The speaker for the evening will be Jim Vankoski, President of the Delaware County Baseball League. Founded in February 1908, the Delco League is the only incorporated league in the United States. It consists of nine local teams, including one from Aston, comprised of young adult amateur players. Mr. Vankoski will discuss the 100th anniversary of the League and its rich history.

A newly compiled set of baseball cards honoring the past sportsmen of the Delco League will be unveiled as part of the celebration. Among the past sportsmen to be honored will be Aston locals Teddy Ryan from Sun Village, John “Duke” Keeth, Jim Christy, and Joe Delozier.

Support a great night to remember, thanks to the creative thinking at Aston Township Historical Society -a  trip down memory lane in Delco sports sounds great! For More information call  610.494.7946
