Report
White Metal Theft
The total tonnage of scrap metal
collected for recycling last year represented about a third of the
amount collected by the township in previous years, due to
scavengers stealing white metal appliances sitting curbside in the
early morning hours. Once an appliance is placed curbside for
disposal, it is the property of Aston taxpayers, who will benefit
directly from the recycling revenue. If a resident sees a
discarded appliance being loaded onto any vehicle other than a
township truck, the criminal act can be reported by dialing 9-1-1.
