about aston

This site is dedicated to Fran McLaughin who created the original site from which we were all motivated to present all of what you see. He dedicated much of the final years of his life creating Aston Township's first municipal website. In thanks, we have maintained some of what he created here in memory of his efforts. The banner, the color scheme, and some of the design work still remain in his honor.

Report White Metal Theft

The total tonnage of scrap metal collected for recycling last year represented about a third of the amount collected by the township in previous years, due to scavengers stealing white metal appliances sitting curbside in the early morning hours. Once an appliance is placed curbside for disposal, it is the property of Aston taxpayers, who will benefit directly from the recycling revenue. If a resident sees a discarded appliance being loaded onto any vehicle other than a township truck, the criminal act can be reported by dialing 9-1-1.
