Additional organizations supported by American Legion Post 926 include the Aston Valley Baseball League, Post 926 Baseball League, Sun Devil’s Baseball League, American Cancer Society, ALS Association, Scotland School for Veterans’ Children, Keystone Boys State, Elsmere and Coatesville VA hospitals, Sun Valley ROTC, Aston-Beechwood and Green Ridge fire companies in addition to many more.

   Commander John Burrell served in the United States Army from 1961-1964 during the Panama Crisis Conflict as Sgt. E5.  He has been actively involved with the American Legion for the past 24 years; the last 5 years serving in the capacity of finance officer.  Commander Burrell will be installed as American Legion department historian for the state of Pennsylvania at a special event held in Pittsburgh on July 16, 2006.

Please continue to support our township’s history by visiting the

Aston Historical Society located at the Community Center.  The historical society is open every Monday from 11am to 2pm and 6:30pm to 8:30pm; and Wednesday from 11am to 2pm.

   Anyone interested in displaying a family or township related historic photograph on our government access channel, please contact Michal Curry at 610-972-1317.  All photographs will be promptly returned.

 

Where are they now?  We are looking for former Aston residents who relocated from the area in order to…

serve in the United States military,
work within a health care profession or charitable organization,
play professional sports,
attend a college or university,
or pursue other professional and personal endeavors.
