Permits are needed to install wood stoves and great care is needed in determining placement of the stove. Proper storage of wood should be 12" off the ground. Many fires have started because ashes were not disposed of properly.

As we head into the fall season, now is a good time to replace the batteries in your home and/or business smoke detectors.

Lastly, please make sure you have your residence marked with visible 3" house numbers so that emergency personnel can easily find your location, in the event of an emergency.

Senator Dominic F. Pileggi invites kids of all ages and their families to attend his 3rd annual Kids' Fun Fair on Saturday, October 15,2005. The event is offered free of charge as a community service and will be held rain or shine at Sun Valley High School, from 11am to 2pm. The Philadelphia Zoo will present its Zoo on Wheels "Born in the USA " program and the Franklin Institute will offer its Traveling Science Show, an interactive educational experience. There will also be face-

painting, a moon bounce, and refreshments.

The Kids' Fun Fair will also feature representatives from state and local agencies who will provide valuable information on programs and benefits available to families and children.

The Pennsylvania Freemasons Foundation for Children will also be on hand to promote their Child Identification Program (CHIP). This program addresses the growing concern that, over the course of a year, more than one million children are reported missing in the United States. Parents will receive computer scanned fingerprints of their children along with a DNA kit.
