Only the Name Has Changed

Formerly known as Inside Jeweler’s, Dyer’s Jeweler’s at 2745 Weir Rd. (behind the old Wawa) wants their loyal customers to know that their personalized service has not changed. Patrons will be greeted by the same smiling faces of Bill Dyer, his business partner Lisa Ruffenach, and salesperson Miki Onorato, who collectively have over 45 years in the jewelry business. The store still specializes in jewelry repair and custom wedding band design, and watches and rings are still for sale, with an even better selection now. “It’s nice to be able to come in and talk to the jeweler, not just the owner,” notes Dyer.

Aston commissioners pose with Green Ridge firefighters, after recognizing the emergency responders for their service to the community and their actions at a recent Parkside fire.

Firefighters Praised

The applause was heartfelt at last month’s commissioners’ meeting, where members of the Green Ridge Fire Company were credited with assisting in the rescue of two injured Parkside firemen on Aug. 11. One of the recovering firefighters, Dan Brees, was in attendance. Commissioners commended the firemen for their heroics, and the service they provide the community every day of the year.

Aston Beechwood Fire Company responded to 44 fire calls and 153 ambulance calls in August, while Green Ridge volunteers answered 65 alarms that month. The August totals break down to an average of eight emergency responses every day.

$50 tickets to an Oct. 7 Brees/Frost Foundation fundraiser dinner at the Springfield Country Club are available at both Aston firehouses.
