1048.01 ENUMERATION AND INSPECTION.

It shall be the duty of the Highway and Sanitation Department, or such officer as may be named for the purpose by the Board of Township Commissioners, to make or cause to be made an annual enumeration and inspection of all telegraph poles, telephone poles, electric light poles and electric power poles, and any and all other poles which are now or may hereafter be erected and maintained by any person upon or along any of the streets, alleys and public places in the Township. Such enumeration and Inspection shall be made in the month of April of every year, and further inspections may be made by the Highway and Sanitation Department, or such officer appointed for the purpose, at any time deemed advisable by the Board of Township Commissioners or the Highway and Sanitation Department.  (Ord. 145. 1048.02 ANNUAL INSPECTION REPORT.

The Highway and Sanitation Department, or the person appointed for the enumeration and inspection of poles, shall make a true report in writing to the Board of Township Commissioners at its regular meeting in the month of May of each and every year, setting forth the condition and the number of poles erected and maintained by each person owning or maintaining such poles, within the Township. Copies of such report shall be sent to such persons as soon as possible thereafter.  (Ord. 145. Passed 2-16-55; Ord. 339. Passed 5-28-69.)

1048.03 INSPECTION FEE.

For the purpose of defraying the expenses of inspection and enumeration, as provided in this chapter, an annual inspection fee of one dollar ($1. 00) is hereby imposed. There shall be no inspection of wires and cables maintained along or above any of the streets, alleys or public places in the Township, at the time of the inspection of poles, and the fee for such inspection of wires and cables heretofore made is hereby eliminated. 1048.04 STATEMENT AND NOTICE OF FEES.

Upon receipt of the report from the Highway and Sanitation Department, or the officer appointed for the purpose by the Board of Township Commissioners, the Township Secretary shall prepare a statement of the number of poles maintained In the Township, by each person owning or maintaining such poles, and the amount of Inspection fee payable therefor. On or before June 1 of each and every year, the Secretary shall give notice to such persons of such inspection fee and that the same is due and payable to the Treasurer of the Township not later than sixty days from the time of notification. The submission of the notification of enumeration and Inspection of poles, as provided for in this chapter, shall be a condition precedent to the obligation of the person owning and maintaining such poles to pay such Inspection fee.  (Ord. 145. 1048.05 NONPAYMENT.

No person owning or maintaining any pole, wire or cable upon, along or above any of the streets, alleys or public places in the Township shall refuse or neglect to pay the inspection fee imposed under this chapter.  (Ord. 145. Passed 2-16 -55.)
