Workplace Safety Committee

273.01 Establishment; mission.

273.01 ESTABLISHMENT; MISSION.
There is hereby established the Staff Workplace Safety Committee whose mission shall be to provide a workplace free from unreasonable risk of personal injury or decease and of property damage. (Res. 97-35. Passed 4-16-97.)
273.02 QUALIFICATION FOR WORKERS’ COMPENSATION PREMIUM DISCOUNT.
It is the intent of the Board of Commissioners that the Workplace Safety Committee shall be established, among other reasons, to qualify for Workers’ Compensation premium discounts in accordance with Act 44 of 1993 and Act 57 of 1996 of the Commonwealth. (Res. 97-35. Passed 4-16-97.)
The Workplace Safety Committee shall be composed of an equal number of management/supervisory employees and non-management/non-supervisory employees, and its overall membership shall be reasonably representative of the major work activities of the Township. (Res. 97-35. Passed 4-16-97.)
Other terms and conditions of the Workplace Safety Committee, including, but not limited to, Committee membership, officers, meetings, functions and training of members, shall be spelled out in rules and regulations established and implemented by the Township Secretary. ANNUAL REPORT.
An annual report shall be provided to the Township Board
of Commissioners each year explaining the status of the Township’s Workplace
Safety Program and all major activities and accomplishments of the Workplace
Safety Committee. (Res. 97-35. Passed 4-16-97.)
