460.06    REPAIRING VEHICLES ON STREETS AND SIDEWALKS. (REPEALED)

460.07    LOADING AND UNLOADING COMMERCIAL VEHICLES.

No operator of a burdened vehicle shall stop such vehicle on a highway or in a business district or obstruct any sidewalk for a longer time than is necessary to load or unload the same.  (Ord. 235. Passed 4-20-60.)

 

460.08    PARKING FOR PURPOSE OF SALE; BRIDGES AND UNDERPASSES.

No person shall park a vehicle on a highway for the purpose of selling the same, or on a bridge, or on a bridge approach or in any underpass.  (Ord. 235. Passed 4-20-60.)

 

            460.085   OVERNIGHT PARKING OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

        Overnight parking of trucks, commercial vehicles or trailers of any type is prohibited in parking lots held open for business use, unless such vehicles are directly related to the business associated with the property.  Overnight parking of trucks, commercial vehicles or trailers of any type, in parking lots held open for business use, shall be limited to the rear of that property. (Ord. 836. Passed 6-21-06.)

460.09    PARKING OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.

No person shall park a truck or commercial vehicle, which is rated at a load capacity in excess of one ton, or permit such vehicle to stand unattended, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day, on a highway in any district of the Township which is zoned residential. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to have official signs erected in such residential areas where, in his opinion, they are required.  (Ord. 337. Passed 2-19-69.)

460.095  PARKING OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ON PUBLIC STREETS.

No person shall park a commercial vehicle, including the vehicles specified in Section 440.03, on any public street in the Township. (Ord. 751. Passed 9-18-96.)

 

460.10       PARKING IN FIRE LANES.

(a)      No person shall park a vehicle or permit a vehicle to stand in any area of the Township which has been designated a fire lane by a resolution or ordinance of the Board of Township Commissioners or as designated by the Fire Marshal.

(b)     Property owners shall erect signs in accordance with the regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation at the beginning and end of areas designated as fire lanes. (Ord. 620. Passed 5-20-87.)

 

460. 102        PARKING OF BOATS, TRAILERS OR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES WITH SLEEPING QUARTERS ON PUBLIC STREETS.

Within the residential and business districts of the Township, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. of the following day, there shall be no parking on any public streets of any boats, trailers or recreational vehicles with sleeping quarters which are rated at a load capacity in excess of three-quarters of a ton.  (Ord. 653. Passed 9-20-89.)

460. 103       SLEEPING OR OTHERWISE RESIDING IN A MOTOR VEHICLE.

It shall be unlawful for any person to occupy or use or permit the occupancy or use of any automobile, motor vehicle, trailer, van,  truck, pickup truck, camp car, recreational vehicle, other motor home, or other vehicle as sleeping or living quarters, whether on public or private property, outside a lawfully operated mobile park or auto camp.   (Ord. 842. Passed 11-19-2007.)

 

 

460.104      PROHIBITED HOURS FOR COMMERCIAL DEL1VERIES.

No person shall make any commercial deliveries or pick-ups within the Township between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day utilizing a commercial vehicle which is rated at a load capacity in excess of three-quarters of a ton.  (Ord. 654. Passed 9-20-89.)

 

460.11       ENFORCEMENT; WAIVER.

Police officers and/or parking enforcement personnel of the Township shall report to the appropriate official all violations of this chapter, indicating, in each case, the section violated, the license number of the vehicle involved in the violation, the location where the violation took place and any other facts that might be necessary to secure a clear understanding of the circumstances attending the violation. The notice of the police officer shall contain instructions to the owner or driver of the vehicle that if he or she will place the sum of fifteen dollars ($15.00) enclosed within the envelope provided and deliver such envelope to the Police Department within five days of the date of such violation, that act will save the violator from prosecution and from payment of the fine and costs prescribed in Section 460.99. If such violator has not paid the fine within five days, then a citation will be issued and the matter prosecuted through the offices of the District Justices for payment of fines and costs. 460.99       PENALTY.

(a) Whoever violates any of the provisions of this chapter for which no penalty is otherwise provided, is guilty of a summary offense and shall be fined in accordance with the fee schedule set by the Board of Commissioners, which shall hereinafter be set by Resolution. (Ord. 620. Passed 5-20-87 Amended 7-25-05.)

(b) Whoever violates Section 460.01(e) shall be fined fifty dollars ($50.00) for a first offense. For a second or any subsequent offense within any twelve-month period such person shall be fined one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each offense. (Ord. 728. Passed 6-15-94.)

(c) Whoever violates Section 460.095 shall, upon conviction thereof in a summary proceeding before a District Justice, be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) per violation, plus costs of prosecution.
